RESULTS FROM MARCH 5, 2019  - AUSTRALIAN BALLOT VOTING

Article 1:    To elect a Moderator to serve from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. JOHN THRASHER

Article 2:    To elect a School District Clerk to serve from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.    DEBRA HAWKINS

Article 3:    To elect a School District Treasurer to serve from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.     JUDY ZINN

Article 4:    To determine the date and time on which the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Mettawee School District shall be held.   WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2020 AT 7:00 PM AT THE RUPERT FIRE HOUSE

Article 5:    To hear and act upon the reports of the School District directors and officers.     DISCUSSED LATER IN THE MEETING

Article 6:    To discuss articles to be voted upon by Australian ballot.

Article 7:    To transact any other business which may legally come before this meeting.      NONE

VOTED BY AUSTRALIAN BALLOT:

Article 8:    Shall the voters authorize the School Board to borrow money by issuance of notes not in excess of anticipated revenue for the fiscal year July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020?      PASSED        YES – 374  NO – 156 UNDERVOTES – 5  OVERVOTES - 0

Article 9:    Shall the voters of the school district approve the school board to expend $5,539,649, which is the amount the school board has determined to be necessary for the ensuing fiscal year?  It is estimated that this proposed budget, if approved, will result in education spending of $15,662 per equalized pupil. This projected spending per equalized pupil is 8.1% higher than spending for the current year.  PASSED    YES – 293      NO – 236   UNDERVOTES – 6 OVERVOTES - 0

Article 10:    Shall the voters authorize the School Board to transfer any cumulative surplus existing on June 30, 2019 from the anticipated General Fund surplus, an amount estimated to be $36,490 to the Building and Grounds Maintenance Reserve Fund?  PASSED    YES – 380   NO – 148 UNDERVOTES – 7   OVERVOTES - 0

Article 1:     To elect a Moderator to serve from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.  OLIVER OLSEN

Article 2:     To elect a School District Clerk to serve from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.  SANDRA PINSONAULT

 Article 3:     To elect a School District Treasurer to serve from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. JAMES LIND

 Article 4:     To fix the salaries of the School District Officers for the 2019-2020 school year.  $500 FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT CLERK

 Article 5:     To determine the date and time on which the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Taconic and Green Regional School District shall be held, and where such meeting shall be held. TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2020 AT 7PM AT THE DORSET SCHOOL

 Article 6:     To hear and act upon the reports of the School District directors and officers.

Article 9:     Shall the voters authorize the School Board to borrow money by issuance of notes not in excess of anticipated revenue for the fiscal year July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020?   PASSED     YES – 1367      NO – 348

Article 10:   Shall the voters approve payment of the announced tuition rate of Burr and Burton Academy in the amount of $17,490 for the 2019-2020 school year for resident pupils in grades 9 through 12 who attend any approved Vermont independent school? PASSED     YES – 1468      NO – 296

Article 11:   Shall the voters of the school district approve the school board to expend $32,178,698, which is the amount the school board has determined to be necessary for the ensuing fiscal year?  It is estimated that this proposed budget, if approved, will result in education spending of $17,151 per equalized pupil.  This projected spending per equalized pupil is 2.7% higher than spending for the current year. PASSED     YES – 1294     NO – 438

Article 12:  Shall the voters appropriate the sum of $263,327 for the Building and Grounds Reserve Fund? PASSED     YES – 1250      NO – 463

Article 13: Shall the voters authorize the School Board to establish a Bus Reserve Fund?  PASSED     YES – 1335    NO – 384

Article 16:  Shall the voters appropriate the sum of $40,000 for the Technology Equipment Reserve Fund?  PASSED     YES – 1284      NO – 426 

Article 17:  To elect four (4) Directors from any of the four (4) largest towns (Danby, Dorset, Londonderry, Manchester) for three (3) year terms expiring in March 2022.
